Participant FAQ for FISHER Meetings

Below are “tips and tricks” for participants using Fisher Meetings. Zoom has an extensive support site (support.zoom.us), if you need help for a meeting in Zoom.

1.) What if I get a blank screen or a “Fisher Core Groups Error” page when logging into FISHER Meetings?

  • This can result from a corrupted cache or an outdated browser. We recommend checking for browser updates, clearing the cache (from “all time,” not just the last day or week), or trying to log in with a different browser.

2.) What if I have a bad connection (the screen freezes, the audio cuts in-and-out, the video is choppy, etc.) in a meeting?

  • If this happens, we recommend closing all other programs before opening FISHER Meetings. You might also check if anyone else on your Internet service is streaming video or downloading files at the same time, since your network’s bandwidth may not be sufficient for multiple computers streaming from the web.

3.) How do I join a meeting if I don’t see my reminder email?

  • The reminder emails typically arrive about six hours before a meeting starts, but they might have gone into your spam or junk email folder (or otherwise be lost). If that happens, you can click the link in the original email inviting to you to the meeting, or you can simply log into FISHER Meetings (https://fishermeetings.communitybiblestudy.org), find the meeting under your Core Group, and click on it. If the leader has already started it, you’ll see the “Join meeting” link on the next page.  (See the “Join a Meeting” how-to document for more information.)
